About this course

We all have goals. We have professional goals, where we want to be professionally in a year or two or ten from now. We have goals about getting healthy, losing weight if we need to, exercising more. We have family goals, monetary goals, social goals. And yet, we often have difficulty staying with the program. Our motivation fails. How can we structure goals so that we increase our chances of achieving them?

Lesson 1

In this lesson, you'll learn how small progress can lead to big wins, how the key to motivation is dopamine, and how we can train ourselves for success or failure.

In lesson 2, we look at opponent process theory and how we can train ourselves to fail.

Lesson 3

In this lesson, you'll learn how visualizing having achieved success can work against you and how to visualize the right way.

Lesson 4

In this lesson, you'll learn how being kind to yourself when willpower fails can lead to success, how becoming friendly with your future self can help you overcome procrastination, how tracking success can lead to failure, and how people with the most willpower actually use it less.
