Neuroplasticity

6 Lessons

About this course

The brain develops through experience, starting in the womb, and continues throughout our lifetime into old age. You’ll learn what it takes to change the structure and function of our brain, how stress affects neuroplasticity, whether learnings are transferable to other skills, and how our genes influence learning.

Lesson 3

In addition to structural neuroplasticity, where the structure of the brain changes, there is also functional neuroplasticity where brain structure has not changed but where the brain has learned to function differently. In this lesson, you'll learn about functional neuroplasticity, whether learnings in one domain are transferable to other domains, and whether brain training works.
